When you have an injury, emotional hurt, or any type of trauma event there is always an emotional response. If you do not release that emotion from that injury, hurt, or traumatic event, the brain will bury (suppress) the hurtful emotion. As a result, suppressed emotion becomes stored throughout the body areas such as cells, muscles, tendons, and body systems which create a weakened state of functioning in the areas the emotion is stored. This makes the body more susceptible to illness and less capable or receptive to healing. In addition, the unresolved emotion from the hurtful event becomes trapped in your soul; which can lock the original physical or emotional trauma in the body or mind. This can block the physical hurt from healing. As a result, one of the best ways to open a pathway to healing is to reveal and release the unhealthy emotion.
